Part 1. Recover Lost Excel Password
Download and install Excel Password Unlocker, launch this app and then follow the steps to recover Excel password.
Step 1: Click on Excel Password Recovery and import the Excel file you want to recover password for.

Step 2:Select one of the 3 password attack types and make the attack settings if needed, then click the Start button to begin recovering.

Step 3:Once the password is successfully recovered, a dialog box will pop up to inform you of it. Write down the password and click OK to finish your operation.
Note: Here you click the Start Page tab back to the software main interface.

Part 2. Password Attack Settings
1> Brute-force Attack
Brute-force Attack- recovers passwords by trying all possible password combinations. Best if you know nothing about the forgotten password. Recover password with this attack type, just select Brute-force and click the Start button.
2> Brute-force with Mask Attack
Brute-force with Mask Attack – reduce password recovery time by restricting the search area if you know something about the forgotten password like the password length. If you can recall part of the lost password, this attack is the best choice.
For example, if you can remember your lost password is composed of lowercase letters, numbers and uppercase letters, contains 5-8 characters, and starts with "gh" and ends with "1", you can select Brute-force with Mask and click the Settings button to make the following settings:

3> Dictionary Attack
Dictionary Attack – check the combinations from a dictionary file as possible password until it finds the correct password or until all the words in the dictionary have been verified. Best if you use regular words or phrases for password.
You can use either default dictionary or your own one (created by you in various languages, like English, French, Chinese, Japanese, etc.).
Recover password with this attack type, just select the Dictionary attack, and click Settings to customize your settings. Then click Start button to begin.

Part 3. Search Encrypted Excel Files
Excel Password Unlocker allows you to scan your computer for all password-protected Excel files if you couldn't remember the file location.
Step 1: just click on Search Encrypted Files on the main interface

Step 2: Select the type of scan and where to scan on the next window, and then click the Scan button on the following screen:

Step 3: Once the password-protected MS Excel files found, you can right-click on the target file and select Recover Password to start recovering.
